Survey Results '96

Hundreds of students and citizens have been assisting the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) gather data on the health of Minnesota's frog population. Malformed frogs were reported to a Thousand Friends of Frogs for 48 counties in Minnesota, with details reported to the MPCA. The results of the frog survey are indicated in the following map (Numbers do not indicate actual amounts of malformed frogs reported). Scientists in the MPCA confirmed malformities in 21 of the sites in 8 counties. Other scientists and biologists confirmed malformed frogs in five other counties.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency confirmed abnormal frogs in the following eight counties: Becker, Crow Wing, Le Sueur, Mcleod, Meeker, Ottertail, Polk, and Sibley.

Other scientists confirmed abnormal frogs in five other counties: Chippewa, Hennepin, Hubbard, Koochiching, Traverse, and Yellow Medecine.
