The Watershed Action web site is unique because it organizes all its information around common pollution prevention service-learning projects (such as stenciling storm drains or organizing a trash clean-up).

Each of five 1- or 2-page Watershed Action Fact Sheets gives key information in support of a specific service-learning project.

• If you already know what project you will do, go straight to the fact sheet specifically related to that project.
• If you are still choosing a project, browse the fact sheets to learn more about different kinds of pollution and what can be done to protect water quality. Then, link to Action Preparation or Service-Learning Projects for more information.

Identify Your Watershed - How big is your watershed? Where do its streams and rivers flow? Who and what else lives in it? How do they use it?

Go to What Watershed Are You In? to discover the shape, size, and characteristics of your watershed. Also identify local agencies responsible for water quality in your area.

What Is Non-Point Source Pollution? Point source pollution comes out the pipes of factories and wastewater treatment plants. Non-point source pollution includes all the little things everyone does-from running our cars to littering-that hurt water quality.
